Position available:

Legal Records Specialist, a position in the company’s in-house Legal Department located at the company’s headquarters in Raleigh, NC (27607).

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Large document management and production skills.
  • Function as a valued member of the in-house legal team, assisting in the management and production of corporate records.
  • Assist in responding to requests for the production of documents related to regulatory and litigation matters.
  • Provide support to members of the legal team and business teams related to contract process management and record retention.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Manage legal records, including organizing, cataloging, filing, searching, archiving, retrieving and storing documents in accordance with document retention policy;
  • Maintain and improve databases used for legal records;
  • Assist in the management/retention of essential corporate records in accordance with legal guidelines;
  • Assist legal staff in responding to outside requests for information, including the organization and production of documents in response to regulatory, subpoenas, litigation and law enforcement requests for production;
  • Review and redact specific information upon request and in accordance with legal guidelines;
  • Provide support to legal and business teams related to contract process management and record retention;
  • Set up and maintain litigation files and case management;
  • Draft routine documents, as requested;
  • Work on other projects as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong mastery of large corporate document management and production issues;
  • Ability to make necessary and appropriate decisions within appropriate ethical and legal parameters;
  • Ability to collaborate and interact professionally with other staff members and external parties;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Proficiency at the intermediate level in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook calendaring;
  • Excellent writing and communications skills.

Experience/Education/Certifications:

  • Master of Information Science
  • Master of Library Science
