Position Summary:

Manage all aspects of property tax function – compliance, valuations, audits, protest and appeals (informal and formal).  Build and maintain relationships with taxing authorities.  Manage co-sourcing partners and other consultants as needed.  Inspect and assess properties for opportunities to minimize real and personal property taxes.  Provide assistance to field personnel with accrual process.  Lead and direct the efforts of two property tax managers, including one located in Raleigh, NC.  Participate actively in professional organizations.  Regularly communicate new opportunities/issues, legislative changes, recommendations and status of projects to director, state and local tax.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance/Accounting, Engineering or Real Estate or equivalent experience required
  • 10+ years' of property tax related experience in both real and personal property
  • CMI, ASA, MAI or other professional designation required
  • Outstanding communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Approximately 25% travel required
