Position Summary:

Provide technical expertise in various development capacities combined with excellent planning, coordination and communication skills.  Support the design of innovative solutions, and assist with integrating new and existing solutions into the corporate enterprise.  Lead strategic solutions planning sessions within the various development teams, IS, and alongside business stakeholders.  Collaborate and support database design sessions including, physical database design, logical database design and data integration techniques and strategies.  Capture technical best practices across various solution deployments and incorporating that feedback into future designs.  Work with IS and business units to architect solutions that create efficiencies that can be gained by better use of technology.  Assist with design and architecture of new IT based solutions, integration of 3rd party solutions, and user interfaces.   Support activities within business units and other IT departments to ensure the successful implementation and support for IT solution based projects.  Establish and ensure changes adhere to existing architectural principles that do not violate requirements around security, scalability, performance, or maintainability.  Participate in regular status meetings to facilitate progress, review and communicate risks and solve concerns in a timely manner.  Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring that uniform enterprise-wide application design standards are maintained.  Provide guidance and mentorship to the team whenever necessary. Develops core competencies of the team and provide a healthy working team environment.  Evaluate tools and technologies from time to time and conduct technology research meetings.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / MIS or equivalent experience required, Master's degree in a related discipline preferred
  • Minimum 10+ year’s development experience, proven leadership experience working with successful software development teams
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles and design patterns with expertise in Oracle Fusion Middleware desired
  • Expertise in the design, development and deployment of enterprise-level N-tier architecture in both intranet and extranet environments
  • Experience developing applications in an object-oriented environment, with .NET and/or Java experience desired
  • Ability to research new, emerging technologies from 3rd parties and their impact and value to the company
  • Experience working effectively in multidiscipline, high performance work teams / groups
  • An established track record of working with technical staff through evaluation, recommendation and integration of applications, components and services from third-party vendors, consultants, and contractors
  • Possess horizontal knowledge of business processes
  • Experience with JD Edwards, Oracle and MS SQL Server database or other major ERP system desired
