JOB SUMMARY
Provide human resources consulting services to management. The primary purpose of the position is to maximize the productive ability of human resources by facilitating the development and maintenance of effective human resources programs and practices, and to provide for the effective administration of all functional areas of Human Resources Management. The position will report to the Division HR Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform various human resources duties for the Southeast Division primarily related to talent management in the areas of recruiting, on-boarding, succession planning, training and development to include managing development plans, addressing benefits and policy questions for United States and Offshore Operations.
- Responsible for Offshore Labor Law communication and compliance, compensation, employee relations and administration.
- Conduct HR audits, provide support for division and field locations, conduct new hire orientation for salaried and hourly employees, assist with updating division manuals and guidelines, manage worker’s compensation claims, conduct investigations to include ethics; assist with safety audits, inspections, projects and complete employee surveys (HR & Safety) as needed.
- Manage the AAP
- Perform other related job duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 5 years human resources experience, preferably in mining or a heavy manufacturing environment
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management or related discipline; PHR a plus
- Knowledge of employment law, OSHA/MSHA rules and guidelines
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Must be highly organized and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong follow-up skills and attention to detail are essential
- Knowledge of employment and benefits programs, procedures and administration
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- 30% travel required (including some international)
