Position Summary:
The chief pilot manages the overall operation of the corporate aircraft department to meet corporate objectives and ensures the highest level of safety, proficiency, training and standardization, while establishing an open communication and team environment with respect to company standards of integrity and ethics.
Administrative and operational duties include:
- Provide leadership and direction to flight and maintenance personnel to ensure high levels of safety and personal performance
-Developing and instituting department policies and procedures, including basic company policies, procedures and objectives, into departmental functions
- Preparing and monitoring annual operating budgets that include operating expenses, facilities, supplies, outside services, personnel, training, capital expenses and reserves
- Advising management on the status and requirements for aircraft and other equipment relating to the company's air transportation needs and goals
- Establishing and maintaining records as required by the FARs, manufacturers, and company policies
- Preparing short and long range plans that include corporate and departmental objectives
- Ensuring that high levels of customer service are provided to the company and its customers
- Maintaining an operations manual and ensuring that personnel comply with the manual, appropriate FARs and company policies
- Evaluating department personnel to ensure superior levels of performance and ensuring that personnel receive proper initial, recurrent and upgrade training as necessary
- Coordinating flight operations and maintenance activities with scheduling to meet the company's air transportation needs
- Following safety and security procedures to protect the aircraft, facilities and company personnel, to include severe weather considerations
- Remaining informed on the latest developments within the business aviation community, including FARs and other federal, state, local and foreign regulations affecting operations
- Acting as pilot in command of assigned flights and supervising the second in command in duties to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient operation of the aircraft
- Preparing flight plans and studying route weather and airport conditions and ensuring aircraft airworthiness with maintenance and preflight inspections
- Ensuring that the aircraft is clean and prepared for flight with provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers
- Ensuring proper aircraft fueling, weight and balance, and performance calculations meet the FARs along with utilization of checklists
- Making decisions necessary to start, delay or cancel flights, or deviate from the planned route or destination when operating conditions dictate
Requirements:
- Airline Transport Pilot Certificate with Fixed Wing Multi-Engine and Instrument Rating
- CE-560XL Type Rating with FAA approved Type Rating or Recurrent Training within the last 12 Months
- 5000+ Hours Total Flight Time, 3000+ Hours Pilot in Command, 2000+ Hours Jet, 1000+ Hours in Type.
- Bachelor's Degree and Corporate Aviation Experience preferred.
