Position Summary

Responsible for maintaining database of information on Company’s insurable exposures, including property values, vehicles and payroll.  Maintain information and prepare reports to allocate insurance and claims costs to business units.  Assist business units with providing needed documentation of insurance coverage.  Verify that certificates of insurance meet contractual requirements and handle discrepancies with brokers and certificate holders.  Track payments on insurance programs and reconcile casualty program activity to the liability account on the general ledger monthly.  Maintain database of claim information on Company’s risk management information system.  Distribute monthly loss information to districts.  Design and run informational reports as needed.  Additional duties include:  assist locations in claims reporting and obtaining information needed for claims handling; assist locations in recovering on claims against third party insurance companies and update insurance information manual as needed.  Handle special projects as needed in the Insurance and Treasury area.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in Insurance/Risk Management or related discipline preferred or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experience preferred at an insurance carrier, insurance broker or corporate insurance company
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills; positive attitude and ability to prioritize
  • Strong work ethic; commitment to quality and detail
