Position Summary:

Responsible for blasting efficiency (both surface and underground) along with pit/mine optimization. Implementation and training of industry based best practices and Martin Marietta explosives rules and regulations. Evaluate and Implement potential new explosive technologies and methods. Ensure compliance with regulations, policies and procedures. Troubleshoot pit production issues and make recommendations that lead to optimal output and reduced costs.  Position location is flexible -  Mid-Continent or Western U.S. based

 

Requirements:  

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (Mining/Explosives Engineering preferred) or equivalent experience required
  • Strong personal commitment to safety
  • Able to evaluate local explosives decisions and make recommendations
  • Explosives product manufacturing and specifications knowledge
  • Working knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Willing to accept flexible hours and constant changing schedules; travel requirements vary, but anticipate 40-60%
  • The position location is flexible -  Mid-Continent or Western U.S. based
