Position Summary:
Responsible for preparing journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close. Assist in the preparation and distribution of financial statements. Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards. Provide assistance to Accounting Manager with quarterly and annual reporting. Additional responsibilities include: assisting with accounting related general ledger projects and with other special projects assigned by management. Assist with annual external audit and in preparing assigned schedules for the annual and interim audit.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other related field or equivalent experience required
- Minimum five years of accounting experience
- CPA or other certification (CMA, CGMA,CFF) preferred
- Previous experience with accounts reconciliations, general ledger journal entries, JD Edwards or significant GL experience required
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger
- Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Knowledge of Statutory accounting principles
- Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty
- Must be able to work with minimal up-front guidance and take ownership of work product. Will work closely with all major functional leaders of the Company
- Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and FRx or similar programs
