Position Summary:

Responsible for sourcing, supplier selection and category management for plant products and services. Duties include reviewing purchasing data in order to draw conclusions for increasing service, maintaining or increasing quality and lowering overall total cost. Analyze, support and actively participate in the development and implementation of sourcing strategies for designated spend categories. Deliver and track quantifiable financial benefits and value creation proportionate to the category spend. Coordinate supplier and internal stakeholder communication. Interact and consult with multiple internal functions as necessary (Legal, Tax, Engineering, Finance, etc.). Monitor the implementation of new suppliers and interact with them in order to ensure successful rollout and support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Business or Engineering or equivalent experience required
  • MBA preferred
  • 2-5 years' of procurement experience working in a mining, manufacturing, or construction environment
  • Demonstrated ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects, driving results independently and as part of a team
  • Project management experience, responsible for understanding customer requirements through design/development
  • Understanding of information technologies employed in procurement and how to use these to gain competitive advantage
  • Proficiency in Excel and JDE
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to influence key internal stakeholders
  • High ethical standards in dealings with suppliers and employees
  • Ability to travel
